If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

My good friend Melanie Maxwell (Photography) in Ann Arbor has forced my hand.  Today she announced that I am blogging - thank you Melanie; I needed the shove.  Welcome to Heart Root - you are invited to visit this site often.  I would love for you to read the book and post your comments.  This is a new venture for me; I'm recreating life at 60 and I know that this can be done.  I will be thrilled to encourage you on your journey.  Let's travel together.

Heart Root is a memoir written by Susan McCoy about her journey through grief to recreate a life filled with possibility and purpose.  Using trees and music to tell her story and through the power of reading, McCoy gains the courage to draw a line in the sand of her life - makng an X - where she invited change.  Susan documents the moments, the 'aha' awakenings, that opened her heart to learn through the pain of grief and, instead of her past behavior of running away, she turns toward the experience determined to understand the why of her existence with the intent on embracing her purpose.
Heart Root is written in an honest voice that can open your heart to reflect on life.  McCoy's ultimate message is one of hope and triumph.
